American Idol Top 10

Songs of the twenty-first century . . .

Lisa, "Because of You." She has to know she's a hair's breadth from going home, so she went with Kelly Clarkson, everybody's (well, at least mine) favorite Idol. All over the place vocally.

Kellie, "Suds in the Bucket." Just all right for me, as Randy might say. A little pitchy in spots. Not her best.

Ace, "Drops of Jupiter." Didn't care for it. And the eyes still freak me out.

Taylor, "Trouble." Solid vocal, but unexciting song choice.

Mandisa, "Wanna Praise You." Very, um, interesting song for the venue, but at least there was finally some fire on the stage. She's definitely a performer.

Chris, "What If." Creed . . . what a surprise. No, the real surprise: where's the smoke? Yeah, he's good, but it's essentially the same thing week in, week out.

Katharine, "The Voice Within." So-so selection, but she can sing. She. Can. Sing.

Bucky, "Real Good Man." Not too shabby, not too shabby at all.

Paris, "Work It Out." Her voice, though pretty decent in general, just isn't well-suited to some of this modern stuff. Nicely performed, though.

Elliott, "I Don't Want to Be." Not my style, but pretty good.

* * * * * * * * * *

In the danger zone: Lisa, Bucky, Ace.

Prediction: Lisa.

UPDATE (3/29/06, 9:29 PM): Lisa goes home. Ace and Katharine were also in the bottom three but remain to sing another week. Had Katharine been sent packing, there'd have been serious consequences. If you know what I mean.
